Vanilla + Rose Face Oil
Vanilla is one of a few plants we use that does not have a long folkloric history in Europe. It was first cultivated by the Tononaca people in northern Mexico and was used in ritual and as an aphrodisiac perfume.
In this oil we do not use vanilla essential oil (technically a vanilla absolute). We carefully infuse antioxidant-rich vanilla beans into a blend of jojoba and almond oil to capture its sensuous, lush smell.
For thousands of years rose has been used in medicine. The ancient scholar Pliny the elder (who died trying to save people from the eruption of Mount Vesuvius!) wrote about 32 different medicines made from rose.
Rose is cooling, anti-inflammatory, uplifting, and gladdening.
Almond oil is appropriate for any type of skin, from dry to oily, and is particularly gentle for sensitive skin. Jojoba penetrates deeply and is easily absorbed without clogging pores. It helps skin regulate its oil production and moisture levels.
jojoba oil, sweet almond oil, whole vanilla bean, rose flowers
This face oil is made with whole plants, not just their essential oils. This results in a much milder smelling oil with a wider range of benefits.
The plants are either certified organic, ethically wildcrafted by me, or homegrown with love and without chemicals.

This oil was made with a process Anikó perfected over five years of experimentation. Far more of the plants’ constituents have been extracted for an oil that’s more aromatic and potent than a typical infused oil. In short, it's more lush and more effective.
What if I have oily skin?
Oil can be used for any skin type as a moisturizer or cleanser without leaving you feeling greasy. It's just a matter of choosing the right oil and using the right amount.
Conventional chemical-filled cleansers and moisturizers easily interfere with our bodies' production and regulation of sebum, often exacerbating skin conditions and leaving us either extra dry and flaky or particularly greasy and acne prone.
