So far, starting a small business has been an exercise in pacing myself. Now that I’m working for myself (or working on starting something for myself) I’m rarely not formulating or designing in front my my computer all day long. I know I need to slow down but I’m too excited at the moment about all of the ways in which the universe is opening up for me and is telling me to go go go for it. It’s hard to slow down when that’s happening.
Last week I took a break, sort of, to work with photographer Sarah Jean Achor on some photos of me playing with the herbs. It was a slow and relaxing process because she uses a beautiful hundred year old camera and experiments with different types of expired film.
We took our time to set up each shot while drinking tea in my sunny studio. It was so nice to be slow with the herbs again and to work with them for pleasure.
