A new moon is the birth of a new lunar cycle and is the perfect time to start something new within yourself. Last weekend I was part of a beautiful women's new moon gathering where we set intentions for ourselves for the month. Each of us brought small gifts (crystals, herbs, flower crowns) to share over a tea I had blended for the night.
We burned herbs and incense and spun stories and took time to write down intentions that will lead us to be our best selves this month. At the end of the night we shared our intentions around a giant bonfire and were witness to what each of us were declaring. It was empowering and freeing to be part of.
I'm moved to continue this ritual of a new moon gathering as the woman who led this one is moving out West. Each of us left feeling connected and full-- I need to have this in my life more.
The intentions I set for myself address the insecurities I feel surrounding all of the change that has happened in my life this year. This month I will stop with the "not good enough" cloud that still hangs over my thoughts from time to time, now that I'm no longer doing the important work I was doing in New York and am working in an apothecary. I will embrace what I love about working there, namely learning an incredible amount, and will accept that it is enough, that I am enough, and that working towards being an herbalist is enough. More than enough.
